  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups vegetable broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Optional toppings: croutons, grated Parmesan cheese, fresh basil


  1. In a sizable pot set over medium heat, melt the butter.
